This project was completed while working for the Wisconsin Office of Rural Health (WORH). The analysis was done with the intent of developing a more thorough understanding of access to emergency medical services in rural areas of the state.

Facility locations were collected for the state of Wisconsin as well as surrounding states. A buffer was created to identify locations within 50 miles of the Wisconsin boarder. The ArcGIS Network Analysis tool was used to run a drive time analysis to generate the the firework polygons. A spatial join with census blocks was then used to determine what percentage of the population lives within a 10, 20, and 30 minute drive from the facilities.

Finally, Adobe Illustrator and InDesign were used to create the final design and layout.

This map is now available on the WORH website and was published online by WisContext
